Broke 100 for the First Time!

Par 65, around 4700 yards from the blues—so it’s a shorter course—but I had a blast. Great drives, solid approaches, and I even sunk a 40-foot putt for birdie. Woohoo…

Didn’t someone post a similar achievement a week or two ago? I recall a guy saying he ‘broke 100 for the first time’ with a score in the 80s on a short executive course. He got roasted in the comments!

@Mali
It’s unfair to discredit that guy. A 99 on a Par 65 might not count as breaking 100, but an 82 does. I personally broke 100 with scores of 97 on a Par 67 and a 99 on a Par 69.

@Mali
I don’t think people realize it’s a par 65 course.

It mentions it in the description; I tried to be honest about it! Haha

Was it at The Homestead in Lakewood, CO?

That’s the one! I played the back 9 first, then the front. I hadn’t swung a club in about a month.

Awesome! My girlfriend and I have a special connection to that course; she got a hole-in-one on the 8th hole (check the video on my profile!). Congrats on your achievement!

Once, I broke 70. It was on the front 9, but technically, it still counts!

‘Shorter course’? Bruh.

You broke 100 by 18? That’s one incredible day!

For context, it’s a course with a rating of 61.9.

Yes, it’s a shorter course, par 65! But I still think it counts as breaking 100!

You’re still under 100, and still your first time! Golf is a tough hobby; celebrate any win you can and keep building on it!

4700 yards? Holy cow, no wonder you broke 100! That’s like teeing off with a PW on every hole. To improve at a full-length 72-course, start from the tips and hit your local practice range for chipping and putting.

The real win here is that OP hit only 1/10 fairways, 0 GIR, and 0 putts. Who needs to putt when you hole out every time?! Joking, of course—keep working hard! Don’t fret about comments regarding the shorter course; if you’re enjoying the game, that’s a victory!

@Noel
Thanks! Sure, I had some hits in the rough, but my recovery shots were on point. I’ve never been so good at hitting greens from far out before!

Nice job, mate! Ignore the naysayers; keep up the good work.

Tough back 9! :cry:

Started on the back 9, then the front 9. I hadn’t swung a club in about a month—but yes, the back 9 is definitely harder than the front!
