PGA TOUR rookie Brian Campbell secured his first career victory at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld after 187 TOUR-sanctioned starts. Campbell, who earned his TOUR card through the Korn Ferry Tour in 2024, fired a final-round 70 to catch 54-hole leader Aldrich Potgieter, then sealed the win with a birdie on the second playoff hole at Vidanta Vallarta.
His victory also marked the first win for a 2025-released driver.
When Potgieter messed up that approach, I almost fell out of my chair He looked like he was asking Mother Nature for a break, but Campbell had already won her over with his drive

Potgieter definitely has some work to do A few short game mistakes this weekend show he still has a lot of developing to do
Can’t believe someone who would get out driven by everyone on this forum got a PGA Tour win.
Seriously though, it was amazing to watch Campbell play smart, accessible golf especially in the same group as Potgieter. The 40 yards difference in drives was just wild to see
@Westley
All week, the commentators said this course is pretty open and straight, really made for players who can hit huge drives And the guy who wins is hitting drives like I do Crazy Still, I’m happy for him Glad to see a guy who kept getting close finally get it done
What was usually a boring week turned out to be pretty thrilling Can’t wait to see more from Potgieter The kid is going to win a lot Super happy for Campbell too He finally got a win Sometimes it takes some crazy luck to get you over the hump
