Why do the tee markers look like sticks of TNT?

Course is built on an old dynamite plant/old army fort.
Awesome track too, scrappy place but just really good golf on the ground. Worth a stop if playing Chambers.
@Johnathan
Completely agree.
@Johnathan
Woah! The history of that course sounds neat.

DuPont Wa. used to manufacture explosives for the Weyerhaeuser company during the heyday of logging here building roads. As a kid, there were areas in town off-limits due to concentrations of nitroglycerin in scrap wood in the forest…at least that was the rumor.

The course is built on a former DuPont facility that manufactured dynamite and black powder.

The “Dynamite Tees” are the tips (Dynamite, Black, Blue, White) stretching 7400 yards. This time of the year, it plays more like 8000 yards.
@Niko
The front 9 had a couple 250+ yd carry tee shots just to reach the start of the fairway! Add in the stormy, wind gusts the area gets this time of the year and it makes for some very interesting shot choices.

My most played course this year. The men’s club is great.
So you’d say it’s your home course?

How much is it to join? What are the perks of the membership?

Not OP, but I joined this year.
It is an absolutely fantastic deal. $75 to join, but comes with a free round that can be used any time (peak season rounds are more than $75), GHIN number, 10 round punch card (11th round free) that doesn’t expire, and 5 free buckets of balls (that don’t expire).
You also get a discount on tee times if you have an active GHIN, even if not a member of the men’s club. Great deal overall. I joined just to get the discounted peak season rounds, and found out about the other stuff after I signed up.
@Meade
The HOME of Washington Golf Association. The perks are great. Played there this summer for the first time. Will be making at least one trip a year.
This is one of the hidden gem courses around. Also it’s like $50 to play… better than most $130 tracks around.
It’s really fun. It can be hard to get a tee time.
Got a time for Sunday, hope the weather holds out.
